Phoole Fave: RESCU Foundation

This Holiday season, consider giving to this monstrously-important organization. They're one of my favorite charities, and their work is very close to my heart. From their website at http://www.rescufoundation.org/ :

The RESCU Foundation is a non-profit organization established to promote and maintain the health and medical well-being of the participants of Renaissance Faires, historical performances and other artistic events through financial assistance, advocacy, education and preventative programs.
RESCU was founded almost 6 years ago by veteran Renaissance participants. We now consist of 10-12 board members including artisans, actors, guild members, and a former bank executive. Over the years, we have seen almost 400 cases and have disbursed well over $300,000 in financial assistance to recipients in our community. In 2007 our Advocacy Program got off the ground and as of summer of 2009 has further assisted in relieving over $525,000 worth of medical bills through hospital financial assistance, prescription assistance and other programs.
If you qualify for a participant pass at a faire, you qualify for help from the RESCU Foundation.
This winter, so many people everywhere are experiencing soul-crushing hard economic times. Performers and participants in Renaissance Faires often feel these wants even more keenly, because many spend most of the year on the road, hoping to make enough to keep doing what we're best at: delighting you. Won't you consider a gift to the RESCU Foundation to help them continue their advocacy and support of this genre?
